Molly Hooper Shirt Pattern Pillow

Why did I make Molly's Empty Hearse shirt pattern into a pillow?  Because Redbubble doesn't make doormats!

No, that's mean, but seriously.  I like the BBC Sherlock, but there are things I wish they'd change. 

So here's the 16" x 16" pillow cover, around a Tardis door pillow I bought separately.  You can just barely see through the cover. 

Here the pillow is with a ruler on top, so you can see the sharpness in comparison.

It also came with a cream colored zipper, which I thought was a little strange.

That's a tan sheet in the background, not a white one.

The Messiest Step Okay, so now that you've got your plaster face made, it's time to stick things on it!  The kind of clay you want for this is the kind that doesn't dry at room temperature.  So don't buy the pottery type of clay, and don't waste money on Fimo clay, because it's expensive and you're probably going to have to throw it away because of all the plaster chunks that will be in it afterwards.  Just get the cheap kind that's next to the crayons and white glue, that kind. I'm also going to just do this for pretend in the photos, since I already made my mold and had to knock it apart with a hammer to get it off the plaster face. So put your clay on your mask exactly how you want the latex mask to look when it's done.  Make sure you feather out the edges so you don't have a big, dumb-looking ridge around the edge.  And think about whether it will stab you in the eye when you're done with it.  You can certainly cut the mask af

Mary Dress

Mary Morstan Big Entrance Dress So this is my version of the purple dress with black leaves that Mary wears in the BBC Sherlock's "The Empty Hearse".  It's not 100% screen-accurate, but it's fairly reasonably priced compared to the availability.  I still haven't made a Spoonflower fabric, but that's in the works. I was noticing that along with the Woman on the Bus dress, it's extremely difficult to see the complete garment.  Mary you can only see in Empty Hearse, mostly from the higher part of the waist up, and then a brief, long-distance glimpse of her back.  Then in His Last Vow, you can see one side down to about knee level, but that's definitely not enough to completely make a dress.  And it has little black sparkles on it, but you can't order those on Redbubble. https://www.redbubble.com/people/elaphushouse/works/33039263-mary-watson-dress?asc=u&p=a-line-dress

40's Style Trousers Part 2

What's an "Iron"? Alright, so the trousers are sewn, and believe it or not, I did iron them.  So since they're still ridiculously wrinkly, I'm going to have to go take them to the dry cleaners and have them use the industrial strength iron.  That binder clip is just there to keep the top of the front pleats aligned. I found the zipper I needed, which was a 12" rather than a 14", and that's attached in the usual zipper fashion.  It's black rather than gray, but oh well. Also pre-ironing, I basted the waistband of the trousers and the furthermost edge of the cuffs.  The cuffs were basted before I hemmed them.  I kept the basting in while I was ironing. Basting is just whatever embroidery floss I have lying around the house.  It does use a lot of thread to do it, but you don't have to worry about stabbing yourself with pins, or having a safety pin come undone.  You also don't have to worry about the fabric getting rusty.  The bas
